GRESSCO MAINLINE 2021-22

Colors influence our perception and our mood. Colors awaken emotions and memories. They shape our lives and make an import- ant contribution to our sense of well-being. That’s why it’s important to consider the effects of colors when designing interior spaces, and to use them consciously in the design process. That’s exactly what we’ve done with grow.upp. The design lan- guage and overall room concept are based on the color scheme of nature. It is characterized by soft, restrained colors, which are supplemented by carefully selected and sparingly applied ac- cents. The natural and timeless charm of a room decorated in soft green, brown and blue tones awakens positive associations, and reminds us of our local landscape. The harmonious color combina- tions support familiar visual patterns and create a feeling of safety and security. Grow.upp is a holistic room concept that is based on scientific find- ings instead of on short-term trends or personal preferences. It fo- cuses on the concrete needs of the children, and makes it possible to perfectly match the design, colors and materials in the room with its function and users. A few basic questions must be answered to achieve the optimal result: Who will spend how long in which room? Individual color scheme with grow.upp The most important influence on the color scheme of an Individual room comes from its users . In general, the younger the children, the more subtle the colors and contrasts should be, especially in rooms that they stay in for a longer time. For younger children , color schemes that convey security, safety, confidence and peacefulness are optimal. Visual stimuli should only be used spar- ingly and carefully. For kindergarteners we recommend soothing color schemes that convey warmth and trust. At the same time, focused contrasts and fresh, regenerative elements can also be used to encourage concentration and offer visual stimuli. Color Concept

The average length of stay in a room should also be considered when designing the color scheme. If this is short, then brighter col- ors can be used. If this is longer, then pastel tones, which con- tribute to a quiet and calming room atmosphere, are preferable. Rooms with a long length of stay are generally group rooms, spe- cialist rooms or classrooms. In break rooms or well care rooms the length of stay is medium-length, where as entryways, hall-ways or staircases are only used for a short period of time, and can there- fore tolerate more intense colors. Regardless of all these factors, large surfaces should be kept in relatively subtle colors. Smaller surfaces, on the other hand, are good for color accents, as long as these are consistent with the overall design. As well as the users and the length of stay, the function of a room also has an important influence on its color scheme. In general you can choose between a warm or a cool color scheme. Warm colors are stimulating and activating, they convey nearness and security, and increase the feeling of well-being. This means that brown, red or orange tones are a good choice for group and play rooms. Cool colors like blue, in all its tones, are calming, relaxing and regener- ative, and are recommended for rest areas. In rooms that are to be used for learning, a color scheme that uses light yellow, green and orange tones can support concentration and receptiveness. These effects can be infl uenced by the degree of saturation of the colors – the darker the color the stronger its effect. The natural color combinations in the grow.upp color scheme can be used in all areas of a facility, and also offer plenty of options for individual design. Individual rooms can be designed with var- ious color schemes to support the respective room function, for example by conveying a sense of security or encouraging concen- tration. Ideal prerequisites for the well-being of all users.

Floor Color Light floors are recommended for group rooms so that the contrast to the wall color is not too strong. Quality made in Germany: DLW Flooring is a leading manufacturer for floor coverings in commercial and property construction. The DLW brand offers high quality elastic and textile coverings: linoleum, vinyl, design tiles, and fibrebonded.

Wall paints Light pastel tones and almost-white tones, with a low proportion of bright colors in the overall color spectrum, help to relax the children/teachers. The Caparol company has been around since 1895 and manu- facturers coating materials. In cooperation with the HAWK (Uni- versity of Applied Sciences and Arts) they have defined color concepts for educational spaces which are based on sound scientific data.
